Steady·Confident·Yours to keep
You lost loads of weight but the aftercare came to an end, the applause stopped, and you were left alone with the part that nobody prepared you for. KEEPING IT OFF.
That is where I come in, bringing you my lived experience, practical programmes and real techniques, my KIO Method. It is the only thing I teach.
I am Mel Harris, the founder of The KIO Method, and I have kept over fifteen stone off for over fifteen years. Every skill I teach is one I still use myself, today. Skills from a system and a structure that stands up to the holidays, the stress, the bad days and the curve balls that life throws your way.
Founder pricing, first intake. Starts at £37.

Lasting success is not about having more willpower. It is about learning the right skills and using them consistently until they become second nature.
If you are still losing weight and haven't reached goal yet, this isn't for you yet.
It is far easier to prepare for the storm while the sun is still shining than to build the shelter once the rain has started

My own record, I am my own case study
Qualified in health and nutrition, studied deliberately after the regain so I could understand the body, the gut and my own patterns properly.
A formal qualification, earned after the hard bit

Real testimonials from previous webinars, Q&A sessions, previous programmes or from our weekly podcast.
"My husband and kids no longer tell me that I'm boring when we go out for a meal because I take too long to eat it and they have also stopped complaining that I refuse to make food that I made before my operation if it means that I can't eat it as well. (well most of the time!)"
Ange, Ayr
"Not easy for a bloke to say but I joined one of your support sessions. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself but I didn't know it then, you saw through me, straight away. I was gonna cancel but you hit a nerve so I joined the next one. You lot made me feel real welcome and have really stuck by me. I reckon if I stick at it I'll finally be able to get off this yo yo'ing."
Big Tone, Bristol
"I had my surgery in 2022 but by the end of 2024 my weight was creeping back up and my mood was sinking. You helped me get back on track and now I've re lost the weight I'd gained plus a further 6 pounds. I feel great, thank you so much for your continued support and for KIO's enlightening platform."
Christine, Bromley
"Your webinar about how to eat was so good. I didn't realise how much I take for granted or am just unaware of. I really learned a lot and now I can't stop telling everyone that they are not eating properly ha ha."
Katya, Maidstone
"What a cracking webinar, wish I'd found out about this years ago."
Rhianna, East Croydon
"I had weight loss surgery in 2019 and lost nearly 9 stone, but during and after Covid my weight went back up and I felt like it had all been for nothing. Last year I started taking Mounjaro and thankfully it's coming back down again. But I was really worried because it is so much harder this time round. Everything is explained in a way that even I can understand. You've shown me easy little tips that help enormously. So thank you."
Sharon, Redbridge
"I have only recently found out about KIO. A friend of mine sent me a link to your podcast, it was the one with the surgeon. I learned so much that I did one of your modules. Your approach is so refreshing. Knowing that you have been through the same as me but still kept your weight off has inspired me to do what you did. I love the podcasts by the way and I'm definitely going to do another module. Thank you."
Simon, Cambridge
"I lost 7 stone after my bypass but I couldn't see it and I still felt fat and ugly and ungainly. You opened my eyes to the language I use about myself and also about the danger of unrealistic goals. I am still losing weight, but I am also so much more content and happy within myself. Priceless."
Sophie, Harrogate
"My cousin Ayesha put me in touch with you because I couldn't make up my mind about whether or not to have surgery even though I weighed 19 stone. The mist cleared and talking to you one to one helped me see that the rules for weight loss are basically the same whether you have surgery or not. I've decided not to have surgery, but you have helped me to lose 2 stone. I've never managed to lose that much before and I'm going to keep going. Thank you."
Suraiya, Luton
Things you might be wondering

Yes. The KIO Method works whatever route you took, surgery, GLP-1s, or diet and exercise. The jabs can help you lose, but the skills of keeping it off are the same for everyone, and that's what we work on.
Not one bit. I had surgery, but the method isn't about how the weight came off. It's about everything that comes after, and that part is the same whether you lost it on an operating table or on your own two feet.
KIO deals exclusively with keeping weight off. Not losing it. There are thousands of companies that will help you lose weight; almost nobody helps you with the hardest part, which is maintaining it for life. That is where KIO lives, and it is built by someone who has actually done it, for over fifteen years, not someone reciting theory.
The research, and every conversation I have, points to the same things.
First, the one nobody warns you about: weight regain is biologically normal. Your body defends its old weight by turning up hunger and slowing your metabolism.
So you feel like you are failing, when really you are up against your own biology.
Then comes everything else: emotional eating and food noise you cannot switch off, the plateau when the scale suddenly stops and panic sets in, eating in social situations, loneliness once the aftercare ends and the applause stops, still feeling like the person you were before even in a smaller body, and the shame that makes people hide instead of asking for help.
Every one of these is normal. Every one is common. And every one is something we work through together at KIO.

I am the founder of KIO and the host of the Keep It Off podcast. In 2004 I had my first weight loss surgery, and I have now lost over fifteen stone and kept it off for over fifteen years. I am qualified in Health and Nutrition, and everything I teach comes from what I have lived, tested and still practise every single day.
